PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS

  • Country of manufacture: Japan
  • Dishwasher safe, microwave safe (for warming) (within 2 minutes), not oven safe, not open flame safe
  • Size: (1 piece) Φ65 x H46mm 100ml
  • Material: Ceramic (earthenware)

・Because each piece is handcrafted, slight variations in size and shape may occur.
・Because the glaze used is prone to dripping and unevenness, no two pieces are exactly alike. Please enjoy the scenery of the glaze on the piece.
・Because the coarse clay is used, the surface and edges of the piece may be rough or have small holes.
・Black dots on the surface of the glaze or a reddish tinge to the base may be present. This is due to iron powder in the kiln and iron contained in the clay. This does not affect use.
・Some pieces may have small cracks (crazing) on the surface at the time of purchase, or may develop crazing over time. This does not affect use.
◎Crazing occurs when the piece cools and shrinks for about a month after leaving the kiln due to the different shrinkage rates of the clay and glaze. When crazing occurs, a small, high-pitched "ding" sound may be heard. The sound will gradually fade, but the crazing will continue to appear. Enjoy the metallophone-like sound of crazing when you first use it.
・Before use, lightly rinse in water.
After use, please quickly clean the product with a soft sponge and dish soap and dry thoroughly before storing.
Due to the product's high absorbency, soaking it for long periods or leaving food inside it may cause stains, dirt, discoloration, mold, and odors.
When using in a microwave or dishwasher, please be careful of sudden temperature changes, as this may cause cracks.

MINO POTTERY

The Mino region is known as Japan's leading pottery producer. With a history spanning over 1,000 years, it has produced a wide variety of ceramics to suit the styles of each era.
Among the 15 traditional crafts, four types, Setoguro, Kiseto, Shino, and Oribe, are pottery pieces with balanced colors that have become synonymous with the name Mino ware. Carrying on the tradition of Mino ware from the time when it was affectionately known as "Hyogemono" (pronounced "hyogemono"; meaning "things with charm"), we have created tableware suitable for everyday use on modern dining tables, to be passed down to the next generation. Experience
the beauty of Mino ware, which has supported Japanese dining tables for over 1,000 years, by combining time-honored traditions with modern techniques, clay, and glazes. Experience the beauty of "Heuge" through this collection.

The four colors of Mino ware, the lustrous black Setoguro, the meltingly natural white Shino, the deep green and austere Oribe, and the warm yellow Kiseto, are the traditional colors of Mino ware that have been passed down for 1,000 years. They are the perfect colors to bring out the flavor of Japanese ingredients.
